Alpacas and other creatures

Shearing time - bags for the blanket, bags for the second grade fibre, toenail clippers, iodine for cuts, lots of water and an optimistic attitude!!

25 alpacas and 2 llamas shorn in just under 3 hours. Great behaviour from all except from one girl who had the biggest, fullest bladder I have ever seen and tried her best to contaminate her entire fleece and one llama who decided he really didn’t want to be shorn and had to be carried in!!

Huge thanks as always to Mike Banks of Shearpac - probably the best alpaca shearer in New Zealand and renowned internationally for the great job he does.

Also huge thanks to our friends who volunteered and got dirty, hot and spat at :-)

Now to sort and clean 27 fleeces!!!!!
